Available in a range of grades and sizes Mitchell's abrasive cords and tapes are impregnated with aluminium oxide, silicon carbide or crocus (for ultrafine polishing).
The cords are tough enough to deburr and remove rust, paint and sludge from pipe threads, slots, grooves, small holes and contoured surfaces. Extremely flexible these small diameter cords fit into places where rigid tools can’t reach.
Unlike emery cloth (or sandpaper) the abrasive tapes are impregnated completely on both top and bottom; easily cut to length, they will not tear or fray and are flexible enough to finish slots, grooves and keyways.
In maintenance applications abrasives cords are perfect for cleaning tubing or removing nozzle blockages caused by build-ups, rust or corrosion.
